2. Preserving designated City landmarks: What priority do you give to sustaining the Seattle School District's designated landmarks and saving other landmark-eligible historic places as properties that enable residents to see history and learn from it?

Statement:  I believe that we need to take good care of the wonderful buildings that we now have.  I believe that we should favor updating the current buildings over demolition or building new facilities, wherever possible.  Our older buildings provide a sense of history and a sense of community.  A sense of belonging to a community is a key factor to students graduating and becoming engaged citizens.
