Historic Seattle: A Community Resource and Preservation Advocate

Media

Historic Seattle has dedicated up to $25,000 in funding above the allotted $250,000 toward coordination, advocacy and public relations to direct public opinion and press attention. This makes Historic Seattle available for comment every day, at all times. Part of our goal is to partner with other organizations to maximize our advocacy. The South Downtown Foundation, the King County Office of Cultural Resources, Allied Arts, and the Pioneer Square Business Improvement Association have all expressed interest in pooling resources and effort.

Over and above the information about Historic Seattle's funding program, Historic Seattle has provided the press with a great deal of historical and background information, insuring that preservation issues are better understood by the community. We have had direct contact with, and contributed to articles in The Daily Journal of Commerce, The Seattle-Post Intelligencer, The Seattle Times, and KING 5 TV news.

Resource List

Historic Seattle has compiled and vetted a preservation architects and structural engineers list for use by property owners and city agencies. We also have a growing list of contractors specializing in historic masonry, plasterwork, tile, window replication and others.
