Third Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony

On Tuesday May 10, 2011, Historic Seattle members and friends gathered at the Talaris Conference Center (formerly Battelle Seattle Research Center, established in 1967) to honor excellence in historic preservation at the Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony. With awards for Best Rehabilitation, Best Preservation Practice, Living Landmark, Community Advocacy, Preserving Neighborhood Character and Community Partnership for Historic Preservation, the 2011 award winners were representative of the hard work and dedication necessary to preserve and protect Seattle’s built heritage. Speakers included architect David Hoedemaker and landscape architect Rich Haag who spoke about the original design of the Battelle campus. University of Washington architecture professor Jeffrey Ochsner presided over award presentations.
