Return to the Arts and Crafts era for an evening of wine, appetizers, and a cruise around Lake Union on board the MV Lotus, a 1909 motor cruiser that has been preserved and protected by past and current owners. Built for Maurice McMicken, a prominent Seattle attorney, politician, and newspaper publisher who wanted to travel the Inside Passage, its main saloon is frozen in time, with Douglas fir floors, mahogany inlays, beamed ceiling, handsome cabinetry, and sea green Grueby relief tiles with Viking ships on its fireplace surround. Now owned by Christian Gruye, whose parents had owned it while she was growing up, the boat is a Pacific Northwest treasure cared for by The MV Heritage Foundation.
