Our History ...in 1975 a small number of individuals gathered together to form the Historic Seattle Volunteer Association . The Associations goal was: “ The preservation and enhancement of the historic heritage of the City of Seattle for the mutual pride and enjoyment of all citizens and the creation of a more livable environment with the historic areas of the city.” By-Laws were written, individuals were elected to various positions, and projects were defined.
Today… Historic Seattle volunteers are here to… support and further the goals of Historic Seattle Public Development Authority (HSPDA) and to initiate action to provide needed functions as they arise to assist in preservation in the Greater Seattle area.” Volunteers are engaged in advocacy issues, educational programs, and special assignments. To learn more about the kinds of volunteer opportunities, check out Volunteers or Episodic volunteering.
