Historic preservation is only truly realized by people
taking action.
Historic Seattle has a number of volunteer opportunities in ... education, advocacy, and preservation. Volunteers have been the backbone of Historic Seattle and have assisted us in growing the organization over the past 30 years from a small 1 person office to the thriving organization we are today. Consider joining us and being part of what makes the Pacific Northwest a great place to live, work and volunteer!
Volunteers are involved with ...
- assisting at lectures and tours
- providing office support: help with mailings, data entry, correspondence, answering phones, filing, etc.
- helping to develop programs
- special projects: painting and gardening at the various Historic Seattle projects, assisting with fund development initiatives, research projects, and web-related projects to name a few
Volunteers are also involved in the planning of...
- Tea & Tours at historic homes;
- lecture series and walking tours;
- neighborhood-related preservation events;
- educational seminars for owners of older homes; and
- preservation advocacy promotion.
For more information please see current committees.
Individual volunteer efforts are also welcomed for special needs such as research projects, marketing projects, outreach projects, and administrative assistance in the Historic Seattle office.
Stay tuned for two new daytime volunteer opportunities being introduced in 2007
- Dearborn House Receptionist
- Resource Center / Library Volunteer
