BUNGALOW FAIR ON HIATUS

The Bungalow Fair has been a premier event of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. This past year was our 14th annual event. The Fair brought together exhibitors for a show and sale of antiques and new work by some of the nation's leading designers and craftspeople.

The faltering economy has been extremely challenging for many organizations trying to produce successful events and our Historic Seattle programming is no different. We had fewer Bungalow Fair attendees in 2011 than in past years and fewer participating exhibitors.

Having reviewed our income and expenses and given that the economy does not seem to be shifting upwards in the foreseeable future, Historic Seattle has decided to discontinue the Bungalow Fair, at least for 2012.

However, you will find a number of excellent lectures on Arts & Crafts topics in our Spring and Fall Design Arts sections. You’ll find these events listed in our yearly program.

Historic Seattle’s Arts & Crafts Guild is another way to stay current on all things Arts & Crafts. The Guild holds meetings and programs of interest in January, March, May, July, September, and November. These gatherings take place at member’s homes and other locations. For information, contact co-chair of the Guild,Michael Stenson , at (425) 481-9390 orpluckman26@comcast.net.

We’d like to thank all of the volunteers who have helped to build and support the Bungalow Fair. There have been a number of Design Arts lectures and articles in the Seattle Times about local Arts & Crafts homes and interest. Many of our past exhibitors can now be found on the Preservation Pages.

If you have any questions that aren’t addressed above, please contact Luci J Baker Johnson, Manager of Volunteers & Events.
